Built atop a plateau in the plains of the south, it is flanked on two sides by two rivers that then meet south of the city. These rivers have created minor canyons on the east, west, and to the south where they meet. The city is only accessible from the north, which is still a sheer cliff due to the plateau, There are several bridges from the upper level to the ground, but these can be quickly disconnected in the event of an invasion. The main fortresses are built to the south, where they are safest. The entire city is fairly well off, and those of less wealth typically live on the ground in the shadow of the plateau. It has relatively few townships nearby, in part due to its historic lack of protecting surrounding towns and the fact that the entire area floods during the Naumah, during which time the city and some of its lower area becomes an island. It does however have some fairly populous outer cities that are located atop hills and other smaller plateaus due to the high levels of trade in the area. The bank of Spicus is the largest of any banks in the country and holds a lot of influence. It has marched on or otherwise engaged in combat with all other cities (except Odium) in the past, to varying degrees of success.
